YWC Members,

Freestyle & Greco, Spring Wrestling Registration has opened. Please visit the YWC website to register your wrestler! Freestyle and Greco is a short 8 week season from March 12 – May 5. Freestyle and Greco are fun styles of wrestling in which the rules are geared toward scoring and offense. The primary difference between Freestyle and Greco is that in Greco, wrestlers can only use their upper body. Please see registration details below!!

Registration: Register at https://leagues.bluesombrero.com/yorktownwrestling
Location: Yorktown High School Wrestling Room – 1100 S. Tiger Drive. Enter at Door 19.
Schedule: Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Elementary will practice from 5:30-6:30pm and Middle School/High School will practice from 6:30-8:00pm.

The first day of Spring Wrestling practice will be Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Practice and competition schedules will be maintained on the YWC website calendar found here: https://leagues.bluesombrero.com/yorktownwrestling

Registration fees: The Club fee is $100. All wrestlers must possess a USA Wrestling card. The USA Wrestling card is an additional $40. You may pay for the USA Wrestling card during club registration or you may visit the USA Wrestling membership website at https://www.usawmembership.com to obtain your membership card.

Each wrestler must have his/her own USA wrestling card for insurance purposes for all practices and tournaments

Only wrestlers that have never had a USA wrestling card need a copy of birth certificate (for age verification for USA card)

What does my child need to bring to practice?
Wrestlers should wear wrestling shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt to practice (headgear and mouthpiece are recommended, but not required for practice)

If your family makes the decision to compete in tournaments, please note that all tournament fees are in addition to club fees. A mouthpiece, headgear, and singlets are required for tournaments. Wrestlers will need 1 red singlet and 1 blue singlet for Freestyle and Greco competition.
